Eastern Plastics, the world leader in multilayer fluidics, also produces manifolds from perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) material. The result is a manifold that resists corrosion and heat in aggressive chemistry applications better than other materials.
The unique multi-layer design utilizes a proprietary bonding process, developed by EPI, that allows internal fluid paths and chambers without the use of solvents, adhesives, or gaskets. The integrated fluid paths minimize connections and solution volumes while also eliminating leak points.
EPI is working with equipment manufacturers to create custom PFA manifolds for them. The manifolds can include surface mount valves, pumps, sensors, fittings, and other components. The PFA material is translucent, which allows viewing of the fluidic channel .
Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) combines properties of PTFE and FEP and outperforms both materials in continuous use testing. Semiconductor equipment manufacturers now have the ability to specify the companys PFA manifolds with chemically resistant valves and other surface mount features that bring them an integrated fluidic package in a plug and play configuration. The company also makes multi-layer bonded manifolds from other thermoplastic materials.
