EPI has sophisticated 3, 4, 5-axis CNC equipment that allows us to cost-effectively machine features that others find impossible to create, like very close tolerances, small channels, and contours. Furthermore, our machinists are world-class plastic specialists! Our state-of-the-art machining equipment is controlled by a Distributed Numerical Control system that allows our Engineering Group to deliver programs to each machine remotely.

EPI's Turning Department manufactures components with small diameter cross holes, interrupted cuts, squares, hexes, contours, and other difficult-to-turn, complicated features. For these kinds of parts EPI is always the lowest cost supplier.

Long, straight holes are not a problem for EPI. We regularly achieve 50:1 aspect ratios on drilled holes and can even reach 100:1 ratios in certain materials. Small holes are common at EPI, with diameters down to 0.008" (.203mm). EPI has also developed methods to eliminate or reduce burrs at cross hole intersections. Tool geometry is critical to making successful drilled parts. EPI knows how to design tools for maximum efficiency and part quality.
